CONDITIONS OF SALE & WARRANTY
Woodcraft Doors guarantee all of its products are of good material and workmanship, free from any defects which may render them unserviceable or unfit for the use for which they were manufactured, for two (2) years from shipment. This warranty can only be claimed if all the terms and conditions below are fully met.
• On delivery and prior to any work or fitting being carried out on the door, the door should be checked as fully acceptable free from any visible defects and claims must be made within seven (7) days of delivery. Seller will not consider any claim for manufacturing defect, such as visible defects after the door has been fitted.
• Doors must be stored flat in a dry area (not directly on concrete) and protected from direct sun or hung in a dry place not in a damp, moist or freshly plastered area. If the door is delivered to a building site or new building, the plaster, texture or cement must be completely dry otherwise the excessive moisture, or improper storage, that may be present in new buildings can result in expansion of the panels, resultant breakdown of the joints and warping. Woodcraft Doors will not be responsible for any doors when the moisture content of those doors is below 12% or more than 18 %.
• Doors MUST be hung in weather protected areas and not be subjected to extremes of humidity, direct water/rain conditions, excessive heat/dryness or sudden changes therein prior to, and during storage and installation. A weather protected area is defined as an area that has adequate overhead protection to protect the door from excessive exposure (including doors that open outward).
• If your door receives direct sunlight it should be finished in light reflective colors. Dark colors may absorb much heat thereby cause shrinkage due to the change of moisture content and may void warranty. Light colored paint is the most durable finish for harsh conditions.
• Doors must be correctly treated with oil paint or stain on all parts of the door without delay and prior to hanging by the purchaser.
• All parts of doors MUST be sealed with two (2) coats of sealant paint or lacquer including the top and bottom edges and all cut outs for locks and hinges prior to hanging. Stain and undercoat/ prime are not sealers.
• Regular maintenance of doors should be done to prevent the breakdown of the paint/varnish film and to protect the timber from deterioration, at least every 12 months.
• Timber is a natural grown product, which has natural variations in the color, texture and grain patterns of the wood. These are not to be considered as defects.
• All doors are supplied unglazed and unfinished unless specified.
• All care has been taken to assure the quality & workmanship of Woodcraft Doors so that they can withstand the Australian climate, but excessive heat & moisture or sudden change in climate can cause minor shrinkage, warping (as per Australian Standard AS2688) or a slight movement in the components of some solid doors. These points are not to be considered defects or reason for any claim, objection or nonpayment.
• The manufacturer or seller will not be held responsible for the additional charges of hanging, painting or other charges arising from the replacement of doors.
• All parts of doors MUST be sealed with two (2) coats of sealant paint or lacquer including the top and bottom edges and all cut outs for locks and hinges prior to hanging, undercoat and prime are not sealer.
• Woodcraft Doors will not be liable for any cost, claims, damages or demands arising from the personal injury, loss or damages whatsoever occurring to the customer or its agents, servants as a result of either acts or omissions of the customer. Woodcraft Doors will not be liable for any consequential loss or damage, whether due to its negligence or otherwise. Woodcraft Doors will not be liable to the customer for the Woodcraft Doors’s failure to comply with its obligations to the customer due to any cause beyond Woodcraft Doors’s reasonable control and the Woodcraft Doors’s obligations affected by such cause are suspended while the cause continues to prevent or hinder the Woodcraft Doors’s performance.
• All complaints must be forwarded in writing, accompanied with the proof of purchase to our Head Office within seven (7) days of purchase.
• The manufacturer will not be responsible for any incidental work or expenses as a result of , or because of, bad handling, poor storage, and incorrect fittings, installations or finishes. Any work on the door that compromises its structural integrity or utility (such as excessive cutting, altering the door or fitting hardware) may void the warranty. Please contact us for recommendations as to how much the doors may be modified.
• Damage to the doors can occur through the delivery of doors, especially to country areas. Woodcraft Doors is not responsible for any transit damage.
• In event of a door(s) proven as defective (Manufacturer’s defect only), seller’s liability shall not, in any circumstance, exceed the cost of the door.
• Woodcraft Doors reserves the right to alter and amend any specifications at any time.
